Pain, suffering and death are a part of our lives, just as it was in the life of Jesus. We know that the diagnosis of a terminal illness is a journey through physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges for the sick, their family, and their loved ones. We offer six sessions on six different topics that offer solid, encouraging, practical help and support to anyone facing end-of-life issues and those who would like to be prepared for when the time comes.

St. joseph co-cathedral designated a pilgrimage
churchOn the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Father Simon Peter Engurait, our Diocesan Administrator, issued a Pastoral Letter declaring five churches in Houma-Thibodaux as Pilgrim Churches during the 2025 Ordinary Jubilee Year of Hope that Pope Francis declared last February 2022. The Jubilee Year is from December 29, 2024 thru December 28, 2025. As one of the five pilgrim churches, St. Joseph Co-Cathedral will share the privilege given to the four major Basilicas at Rome of granting a “plenary indulgence” to all who have satisfactorily fulfilled the required conditions during the jubilee year. The details of the plenary indulgence will be specified in the decree that will be posted later on our designated Jubilee of Hope Wall, which will be where the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is located. On Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the 9:30 am Mass, the Jubilee of Hope Wall will be inaugurated.
